A Productive Afternoon in the Kitchen 

Today I took advantage of my sons self-sufficient mood and prepared some things in the kitchen I have been meaning to prepare.

My little boy is now six months old and therefore, old enough to start being introduced to various solids. That being said, today I thought I would try making some homemade baby foods. I baked an acorn squash, and a large yam in the oven, at 360 for 1 hour. In the meantime, I boiled 3 peeled, cored and diced apples on the stove with a quarter cup of water for around 40 minutes on medium heat.

I then proceeded to use my baby bullet (for the first time), to blend the cooked foods, and the result was pleasant! Luca agrees!

 It is so easy to just pull a jar of baby food from a shelf of the grocery store, but I must say it feels good to make his food from scratch and I will continue to do so as often as possible.

In addition to the baby food, I made coconut chicken curry (my own recipe) on quinoa for supper, and for dessert, a “lazy” blueberry apple crisp, a version of my usual crisp I make for guests, or for more formal suppers.
